Resveratrol
The Red Wine Antioxidant in a Pill
Resveratrol (sometimes mis-spelled as reservatrol) is a natural antioxidant. It is an ingredient of red wine and red grape skins, and is famous for its health benefits.
In addition to red grapes, other foods high in Resveratrol include raspberries, peanuts, and mulberries. This ingredient is synthesized in red wine grapes as an immunity mechanism against fungus. It is known as the red wine antioxidant and has been found to protect against a number of ailments.
Independent studies have also shown that Resveratrol may reduce blood fat and cholesterol. If not taken to addiction or over dosage, one glass of red wine per day is considered safe and possibly helpful to various health concerns.
A team of researchers from Milan University, after conducting a series of tests, found that Resveratrol might help prevent mental diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and stimulate the nerve cells to heal by themselves.
Resveratrol is also found to have an active role in increasing cell life span.
Studies also confirm the fact that Resveratrol may play an important role in controlling cholesterol levels in human body.
Ageing: The biggest benefit of Resveratrol is the fact that it may slow aging. Resveratrol is a natural anti-oxidant that has been shown to slow the aging process. There are also strong evidence that Resveratrol may even influence age-related genes, which could help in the discovery of drugs that extend life or treat certain diseases.
Heart Troubles: Resveratrol is also found to be helpful in atherosclerosis (narrowing of blood carrying arteries with the deposition of cholesterols) and other heart diseases. Resveratrol is considered to be primary reason for, why the French suffer from much lower levels of heart disease, despite consuming higher levels of saturated fat.
This was reported on the television program "60 Minutes" and was called "The French Paradox."
Alzheimer's disease: Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disease that slowly destroys a person’s memory and ability to learn, reason, make judgments, communicate and carry out daily activities. Resveratrol may help in controlling, if not preventing, Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease can worsen with the growing age of person, so regular dose of Resveratrol for aged people might prove to be beneficial.
Extending Cell Life: Resveratrol is also very effective in extending the average life span of our body cells and tissues. Resveratrol is a natural anti-oxidant which reduces the free radical count and decreases the cholesterol and calorie levels in our body that are generally considered harmful. The famous fitness instructor Jack Lalane said in an interview that he drinks a glass of wine with dinner every evening. He also exercises every day by swimming in his swimming pool, to burn off those calories.
One way to get Resveratrol without the calories or alcohol of red wine is to take a daily multi-vitamin supplement that includes Resveratrol in its ingredients. Our very favorite high quality supplement that includes a generous quantity of resveratrol is Xtend-Life's Total Balance This product contains many of the best ingredients listed on this entire website. It is very impressive and we highly recommend it.
Another of their products that is known to be good for the blood and the heart is their famous pure fish oil. Even the American Heart Association says the omega-3 in fish oil is good for your heart health.
We have taken both of these fine products with excellent results and we recommend that you take a look at them too.
